Freedom Forum
Opportunity: Highlighting the historical role of a free press in democracy is a big mission. That and staying current with media's role in democracy today is the mission of the Freedom Forum. It's a huge task. To deliver, the Freedom Forum has created an amazing new facility right on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. in which visitors can explore the interaction between news and democracy. It is not a passive affair. There are hundreds of displays, 15 theatres, and millions of digital assets to manage. At the same time, every minute of every day more media is created.
Solution: Freedom Forum turned to Artesia for help in organizing, tagging, managing, and distributing its vast collection of media and take in dozens of HD channels in real time today with the same organizational rigor. Artesia devised a solution that monitors content directly from a media server, automatically picks up assets for transcoding, ingests low-resolution proxies into Artesia DAM, and stores original source content in external storage systems.

Minnesota Wild
Opportunity: The Minnesota Wild are not just among the NHL's newest franchises, they are also among the leading sports and entertainment companies leveraging Digital Asset Management to maximize the value of their content. With digital media needed for their web site, displays within the arena, broadcast, and marketing materials, the owner of the Wild, Minnesota Sports & Entertainment, turned to Artesia for a centralized solution for storage and workflow.
Solution: With Artesia DAM, Minnesota Sports & Entertainment has a solution that manages video across their Avid and Final Cut Pro editing suites and allows producers and marketing managers not directly involved in the content production to identify content most appropriate for each of their different distribution channels such arena, broadcast, and web. The workflow aspects of Artesia, including searching digital content and submitting creative work requests, have also played an important role in reaching the sought after productivity gains. Using the Artesia search engine and gallery view feature, end users no longer need to have many desktop applications installed just for previewing assets. Now employees can search and preview assets regardless of their type (layouts and other formats) directly from the Artesia interface (which runs in all of the leading browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari). In turn, the creative groups within the Wild organization utilize Artesia projects to track requests for digital art work as end users discover the assets and simply drop them into pre-defined Artesia projects for the Creative team to process.
